New Year’s Eve: Mingle and meet your fellow guests at Mulled Wine Reception in the Bar and Lounge, hosted by the McEvilly family and staff. Following the Reception enjoy a magnificent Celebration Dinner with all the festive trimmings, including unobtrusive background music so as not to take away from those wishing to share their New Year resolutions with loved ones. As dinner draws to a close join our musicians in the bar for some easy listening music and ring in the New Year with a complimentary glass of champagne from your hosts.
New Year’s Day: Breakfast served up until 11am. Remember at least one of those resolutions by taking a brisk walk along the nearby beautiful coastline or take a short escorted hike across the nearby hills. For those less energetic there are open turf and log fires to relax beside and perhaps read a book.
Christmas Eve: Cocktail Reception in the Bar and Lounge, hosted by the McEvilly Family and staff followed by a festive traditional Dinner. Entertainment during the meal will be classic traditional Irish music and includes a visit by the local Carol Singers. Relax after dinner in the lounge or library and enjoy the peace and calm of a quiet Connemara setting.
Christmas Day: Christmas Day begins with a traditional breakfast in the Dining Room or enjoy a quiet breakfast in your Room. A magnificent Buffet Lunch is then served at 1pm. Spend the afternoon relaxing in front of the crackling turf and log fires. The more active might opt to take a walk and enjoy the Atlantic sea air and the Connemara scenery. Afternoon teas are served in the Drawing Room. In the evening a house party style Christmas Dinner with all the festive trimmings associated with good food and great company will be served in the Dining room; entertainment provided by local musicians in keeping with a truly traditional authentic Christmas.

Two nights bed and breakfast, 1 Dinner and a half day guided sea trip. Meet Pat your skipper on Roundstone pier and depart on your three hour magical journey. Visit the grey seal colony, spot some sea birds and then onto the deserted island of Inishlacken. Pull up some lobster pots and fish for mackeral, maybe even returning with your supper! The trip ends back in Roundstone an ideal spot for lunch or afternoon tea

Maumeen Mountain Pass A three to four hour hike on an ancient rocky trail to a spectacular mountain pass through the Maumturk Mountains, St Patrick the patron saint of Ireland is said to have slept here on his way to Croagh Patrick. A dramatic mountain landscape and stunning views. The terrain is mainly rough stony trail through the bog. Requires a reasonable level of fitness.
Errisbeg Hill Walk -A difficult three-five hour hill walk near Roundstone. A looped walk beginning and finishing in Roundstone. Rises to 300 metres approx with views of most of Connemara and Sea Views. Terrain includes steep open hillside, wet bog, sheep track and surfaced minor road.
Roundstone Bog Walk - A moderate four - five hour flat hike of the spectacular Roundstone Bog. Features extensive rare bog habitat, quaking bog, a multitude of lakes and includes the historic Derrigimlagh site where ground breaking transatlantic communications took place (Marconi's wireless telegraphy, Alcock & Brown's flight landing spot). This walk can begin near Roundstone and end at Derrygimlagh or vice versa. A car drop is required.
